PRIVACY POLICY & TERMS OF SERVICE

Walk In Corp. appreciates your use of and contributions to our mobile application and our related services (collectively known as the “Services,” or, each individually, a “Service“). Walk In Corp. respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. As such, Walk In Corp. encourages you to read this privacy policy and terms of service (this “Privacy Policy and Terms of Service”) to understand, among other things, the information that Walk In Corp. collects and how Walk In Corp. uses it in order to operate its services and improve upon them. This Privacy Policy and Terms of Service covers the Services only, it does not cover third party products and services.  For example, this Privacy Policy and Terms of Service does not cover housekeeping or grocery-delivery services that you allow to access your home. Accordingly, we encourage you to familiarize yourself with the privacy policies of any third-party products and services that you choose to use.

1. Information Collected by Walk In Corp..

When using the Services, Walk In Corp. collects a variety of information from and about you, your devices, and your interactions with the Services. For example, with the Walk In Corp. app, we may collect information that tells us if something is not functioning properly or how often a particular feature on the app is used. Some of the information that we collect identifies you directly or can be used to identify you when combined with other data.

  • Your Walk In Corp. Account. With Walk In Corp., you can unlock your door with the Walk In Corp. app, share access to your apartment with friends, family, and trusted services, and see access history to your apartment.  If you do not wish to use the Walk In Corp. app, you can still use a fob to enter your apartment.
  • Information you provide. When using the Services, you may be asked to provide personal information about yourself, such as your name, photo, contact information and unit number.
  • Cookies, webview, and other tracking technologies. Walk In Corp. and our partners use various technologies to collect information automatically when you access and use the Services, including cookies, webview and other similar technologies. Cookies and web view are bits of electronic information that can be transferred to your electronic device to uniquely identify your device. When you use the Services, Walk In Corp. and our partners may place one or more cookies or web view on your electronic device or use other technologies that provide similar functionality. Walk In Corp. and our partners may use cookies to connect your activity on the Services with other information Walk In Corp. stores about you in your account profile or your prior interactions on the Services to, for example, store your preferences. The use of cookies helps us improve the quality of the Services to you, by identifying information which is most interesting to you, tracking trends, measuring the effectiveness of advertising, or storing information you may want to retrieve on a regular basis, such as your favorite apartments.
  • Mobile device and mobile browser information. You may adjust settings on your mobile device and mobile browser regarding cookies and sharing of certain information, such as your mobile device model or the language your mobile device uses, by adjusting the privacy and security settings on your mobile device. Please refer to the instructions provided by your mobile service provider or mobile device manufacturer.
  • Usage Logs. Walk In Corp. collects information about your use of our Services, including the type of browser you use, access times, pages viewed and your IP address.
  • Personal device information. When you use Walk In Corp. from your phone, computer, or other personal device, we automatically collect device-specific information such as unique device identifiers, network information, IP address, hardware model, operating system, browsing behavior, mobile network information, the ways in which your personal device interacts with Walk In Corp., and device status. Also, because Walk In Corp. relies on Bluetooth functionality, some devices, such as Android smartphones, require you to enable location services in order to use the Walk In Corp. app. We never collect your GPS location. See “Location information” for our strict policies around the use of location information.
  • Correspondence through Walk In Corp.. Correspondence between you and Walk In Corp., or between you and building staff or property management made through the Walk In Corp. app (such as doormen or maintenance staff), may be recorded or monitored for quality assurance and customer service purposes and to allow property management to access certain details about the contact. As part of this process, Walk In Corp. will receive in real time and store data about your correspondence, including the date and time of the call, text message or chat, your phone number (if applicable), and the content of the text message or chat (if applicable).
  • Social networks. If you use the social networking connection functions which may be offered through the Services, Walk In Corp. may access all of your social network profile information that you have made available to be shared, and to use it in accordance with this Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. Please refer to the instructions governing your social network account to manage the information that is shared through your account.

2. Sharing Access to Your Apartment.

When you give access to other residents, friends, family, or trusted services, we collect their name, photo, phone number, designation (for example, “dog walker” or “cleaner”) and time frame for permitted access from you in order to provide access to your space. When you give us their contact information, we will let them know about this Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. If you give them a fob without giving us their contact information, then it is your responsibility to familiarize them with this Privacy Policy and Terms of Service and to get their consent before giving their personal information to Walk In Corp..

3. How Walk In Corp. Uses Your Information.

Walk In Corp. generally uses the information collected about you for the following purposes:

  • To provide and deliver the Services;
  • To improve the Services – Walk In Corp. analyzes how you use the Services to fix bugs, improve reliability and speed, and design new features;
  • send you technical notices, updates, security alerts and support and administrative messages about the Services or your building;
  • To respond to your comments, questions and requests and provide customer service;
  • To communicate with you about products, services, offers, promotions, rewards and events offered by Walk In Corp. and others, and provide news and information that Walk In Corp. thinks will be of interest to you;
  • To monitor and analyze trends, usage and activities in connection with our Services;
  • To revise, modify, and update existing Services and develop new services;
  • To detect, investigate and prevent fraudulent transactions and other illegal activities and protect the rights and property of Walk In Corp. and others;
  • To resolve disputes with other users (such as disputes regarding unauthorized access events); enforce this Privacy Policy and Terms of Service; and protect Walk In Corp. and our users from harmful, unauthorized, illegal, or fraudulent activity;
  • To personalize the Services and present you with content or features that Walk In Corp. believes will be of interest or useful to you;
  • To link or combine with other information Walk In Corp. obtains from others (i.e. anonymized and aggregated information) to help understand your needs and provide you with better service; and
  • To carry out any other purpose described to you at the time the information was collected.

Email Management. You may receive email from Walk In Corp. for a variety of reasons.  For example, if you took an action through the Services. If you have an account with Walk In Corp., you can select your preferences through your account settings. Also, you can manage your receipt of some types of communication by following the instructions included in the email Walk In Corp. sends you. Please note that, even if you unsubscribe from certain email correspondences, Walk In Corp. may still need to email you with important transactional or administrative information.

Access Histories.

The access histories of residents, guests and building staff are viewable by property management to maintain the safety of the building.

Walk In Corp.’s Terms of Service bans the use of Walk In Corp.’s products and services, including the use of access histories, for activities that Walk In Corp. at its sole discretion deems threatening, harassing, abusive, or fraudulent. We reserve the right to terminate the account of any resident or guest who is found to be abusing our Terms of Service.

4. When Walk In Corp. Shares and Discloses Your Information.

Your privacy is important and Walk In Corp. is committed to protecting your information that identifies you personally. Walk In Corp. will only share personal information that you provide outside the public areas of the Services in the following circumstances:

  • With your consent. When you consent to Walk In Corp. sharing or direct Walk In Corp. to share your personal information. This happens for example when you choose to share access to a private or common space in your building. For example, we may disclose your name, address, and contact information to the other Walk In Corp. users, such as friends, family, or trusted services you invite, so that they know who has given them access and where your space is.
  • With property management. Walk In Corp. may disclose your name and contact information to property management so that they may fulfill your requests, ensure you have access to the right spaces in a property, and maintain the safety and security of everyone in a property.
  • Service providers to Walk In Corp.. When Walk In Corp. hires a service provider to help operate the Services for our business, Walk In Corp. may give access to personal information only as appropriate to perform the service for Walk In Corp., and subject to the terms of this Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
  • Legal obligation or protection from harm. When Walk In Corp. has a good faith belief that access, use, preservation or disclosure of information is reasonably necessary to (a) satisfy any requirement of law, regulation, legal process, or enforceable governmental request, (b) enforce or investigate a potential violation of the Terms of Service, (c) detect, prevent, or otherwise respond to fraud, security or technical concerns, (d) support auditing and compliance functions, or (e) protect the rights, property, or safety of Walk In Corp., its users, or the public against harm.
  • Business or property transfers. If and when Walk In Corp. is involved in a merger, acquisition, or any form of transfer or sale of some or all of its business, whether as a going concern or as part of bankruptcy, liquidation, or similar proceeding, Walk In Corp. may share your personal information in connection with that transaction.
  • Storage and transfer. Your personal information may be stored and processed in any country where we have facilities or in which we engage third party service providers. As a result, your information may be transferred to countries outside of your country of residence, which may have different data protection rules than in your country. While such information is outside of your country, it is still governed by this Privacy Policy and Terms of Service as well as the laws of the country in which it is located. Consequently, it will be subject to disclosure to the governments, courts, law enforcement, and regulatory agencies of such other country as required under its laws.

Walk In Corp. may also share aggregated or de-identified information that cannot reasonably be used to identify you.

5. Your Rights.

  • Children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children and Walk In Corp. products and services are not intended for anyone under the age of 13. If you learn that your child has provided us with personal information without your consent, you may contact us as set forth below. If we learn that we have collected any personal information in violation of applicable law, we will promptly take steps to delete such information.
  • Deleting or viewing your information. Maintaining your privacy and security in a transparent way is very important to us. You can access a copy of the personal information we have collected and the categories of information that we have shared with our service providers in order to provide our products and services to you at any time.

We’ve also made it possible for you to request that we delete your personal information and have attempted to make that as easy as possible for our users. Email support@walk.in.com with your name and Walk In Corp. account email and we will process your request. We will delete whatever is technically, procedurally, and legally possible in response to your request while ensuring that we can still maintain the security, debugging, and legal and compliance requirements that we must adhere to.

To protect the security and integrity of your personal information, before deleting or providing you with access to it, we’ll need to verify your identity by asking you to provide a few pieces of information such as your Walk In Corp. account contact information, government ID, a verification code, or further identifying information. If we are unable to verify your identity, we may not be able to complete your request.

When you request deletion, you’ll also need to first ensure that you don’t have any active access to a space as we don’t want to accidentally stop your access to your home. Once that’s done, we’ll immediately delete all of your access history at your apartment door, delete your contact information, and halt all communications to you.

For building security purposes, your access history in the common spaces is retained for 90 days after you request deletion, after which they are anonymized. All personal information that relates to you will be deleted at this time making you untraceable in the Walk In Corp. system.

  • Keeping your information up-to-date. You may keep your information accurate, complete, and up to date through our products in most cases, or by contacting support@walk.in.com.

6. Third-Party Links and Websites

Throughout the Services, Walk In Corp. may link to the websites of other companies and/or individuals. These third-party websites may collect information about users on those websites, and this Privacy Policy and Terms of Service does not extend to these external websites and third parties. Please refer directly to these third parties and websites regarding their privacy policies.

7. Security and Retention of Information

Walk In Corp. takes reasonable steps to protect the information users share with us from unauthorized use, access, and disclosure, both during transmission and at rest. However, no transmission of information via the Internet nor electronic storage solution can be entirely secure, so please be aware that Walk In Corp. cannot guarantee absolute security.

You can access, update, and delete personal information you provide to Walk In Corp. in your account profile by logging into your account on Walk In Corp.. Walk In Corp. may maintain a copy of the original version of your information in our records.

Walk In Corp. will retain your information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy and Terms of Service, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.

8. Transfer of Information to the United States.

Walk In Corp. is based in the United States and you acknowledge that the information Walk In Corp. collect is governed by U.S. law. By accessing or using the Services or otherwise providing information to us, you consent to the processing, transfer, and storage of information in and to the United States, where you may not have the same rights and protections as you do under local law.

9. Government and Private Party Information Requests.

Walk In Corp. occasionally receives various forms of legal process from government agencies and private parties requesting information about Walk In Corp. users. Before Walk In Corp. produce information, Walk In Corp. will attempt to notify affected users and give them an opportunity to object unless notification is prohibited by law or if Walk In Corp. believes that notification would create a risk of harm or be otherwise counterproductive.

11. Changes to this Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

Please note that this policy may be amended from time to time. You should check back for the most current version before relying on any of the provisions of this Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. Walk In Corp. will provide notice of material changes to the policy, either by posting a notice on our Walk In Corp. app, by sending an email, or some other reasonable method.
